It is five years since the National University Science and Technology Park was authorized in October 2003 by the Ministry of Education and the State Technical Department.
In these recent five year, according to the “one school with multi-campus” development pattern of Tongji University as well as the core idea---“three area fusions, the linkage development” ---proposed by the district government, the technical park has established the development planning of “a Park with multi-base”, and established successively four bases: namely Chifeng road as Incubator base, Guokang road as business venture base, the Hainan Sanya Base and the Suzhou Base. The total floor area reaches nearly 150,000 square meters, and the businessmen attraction area amounts to about 60,000 square meters, and the park has successfully attracted over 200 enterprises. The park has provided development opportunities and remarkable services for business venture Incubation, the research and development of high and new technology, the cultivation of innovative talents, and the transformation of scientific and technical fruits. In the coming years, apart from unceasingly improving and upgrading the software and hardware facilities of the above mentioned four bases, Handan Road Base of Tongji University National University Science and Technology Park will also be established at Handan Road and Yixian Road.
With the completion of the second phase of GuoKang Road Business Venture Base -- the Shanghai International Design Center and Handan Road Base - - and the establishment of Tongji Yixian Building, the park will develop into a base with five characters in the next three years. It will turn into a university science and technology park with total floor area of approximately 250,000 square meters, business attraction area of around 160,000 square meters, and attract more than 500 enterprises. It will truly become a sophisticated, multi-purposed, and synthesizing technology park with the characteristic of industrialization of high and new technology, commercialization, and internationalization, with multi-function of scientific research, production, trading, and training. In 2007, the park has created tax revenue of 81,510 thousand RMB for the district. The gross product is approximately 300 million RMB. There are totally 116 enterprise in Incubator among which 17 are key hatching projects. Altogether, 123 technology corporations and modern design enterprises are recognized by the park. Among them there are 76 technology corporations and 45 modern design enterprises. |
